Does anyone know how to import Snapz Pro X screen shot videos into FCP. They come as .mov, which I thought would be a no-brainer, but the render time is outrageous for a clip that is only a few minutes long.
The dimensions are 565 X 387 and the Codes is: Animation, IMA 4:1
I tried using a sequence preset: Apple Intermediate Codec 720p30, but wasn't any quicker.

FCP will not playback a SnapZ animation at the correct frame rate, unless you do the following:
Use QuickTime to open the file created by SnapZ, then export as 'Image Sequence', saving to an empty folder. Next, within QuickTime, choose 'Open Image Sequence' and choose the first file in the folder where all of the image files are stored (and in which nothing else is stored). You will be asked for a frame rate at this point: choose '29.97', or whatever is appropriate. Finally, import that movie into FCE; or export it (from QuickTime) to a movie file (of some other format readable by FCE) while selecting the 'Current' frame rate, then import that movie into FCE. The movie thus imported into FCE should play there at the correct frame rate.

Why wouldn't a simpler approach like:
Export from the Snap Z file - using QT conversion>Codec H.264 work>set Frame Size>audio>uncheck Fast Start for play back.
I have done this, which greatly reduces file size and maintains quality.
Perhaps I have not examined closely enough for Frame Rate, but all 'talking heads' seem in synch to me.
* This does take a fair amount of tiem and processing power.
Just what kind of file is SNAP Z capture. FCP really does not like it at all.
I do like having an alternative and will try your approach. Image sequence has been around a long time.

I think you can export from SnapZ in whatever format you want, just as long as it's something that QT can open. My only point is that you need to use QT to open the SnapZ export, then go through the routine that I described in order to set the frame rate. I believe that if you simply import a SnapZ export into Final Cut, the latter may assign it a strange frame rate, such as 10 frames per second, and so it won't playback within Final Cut at the correct speed; and, presumably, won't playback at the correct frame rate in any export from Final Cut.
